Mike first came into Hospital Radio Bedside because many work collegues kept saying he had a great face for radio and gave him the nickname 'Tony Blackburn' for his smooth, if not occasionally cheesy, telephone voice!

Mike is passionate about local unsigned live music, so naturally arranges for the very best talent to be played on HRB and weekly sees musicians performing live in the studio.

When he has any spare time after gigging, it's shared between spending time on the phone/internet with his fiance Jess who lives in America, helping plan/make money for their wedding at the end of the year or spending time with his 7 year old son Max, who has already been reserved HRB membership for 2018! He also loves sport and lives by various motto's and metaphors such as 'Life is better when set to music' and 'It's better to regret what you've done, than what you haven't'... that's something to make you think!
